My side of things

Well, sorry I am late posting this today....blogger was not working for me last night! Here is my side of the shared playroom/craft room. I have soooooooo many supplies that it is imperative that I stay organized or it would be too chaotic!!As you can see, I'm still in the closet but this one is bigger and it's organized much better. The 12x12 pictures are from our vacation this year in the Turks& Caicos Islands. I want to go back!! I used Dollar Tree candle holders to hold my small ribbon spools.

Can you tell I love my baby??

My flower and chipboard letters are in clear containers for easy visibility.

I have a career worth of plaques and memorabilia from the Marines. I have enough to fill an entire room. I only have 2 hanging in my home. I received this one from Headquarters Marine Corps showcasing all of my Enlisted and Officer ranks I had achieved.
There are so many ways to separate printed papers but I find this works for me by using themes.
The clear plastic containers can hold 12x12 scrapbook paper but I use it to hold my many stickers. Since I have so many, I like to divide it into categories. Stickers are also in the vertical files on the right as well. This desk is actually 5 separate pieces that I bought from Michael's. It is in their scrapbook organization section. You can custom mix and match pieces to fit your crafting needs. Make sure to buy it when it goes on their 50% off sale. My handy dandy Cricut and HP photo printer sits on top. I seperated my cardstock on the right side in bins by colors. I love the letter M. It was my mother's first initial and obviously mine. So when I knew I was having a girl - her name had to start with the letter M. I love having things to be easily reached. As you can see throughout my space what my constant inspiration is! My Maddy!!I waited 40 years for my Maddy. She is a blessing from God and she totally dominates my walls!Got this over door shoe storage at a garage sale for $1. It is perfect for storing odd sized and large craft supplies. Also great because it is clear so you can see everything. I'm really big on seeing everything...if you don't see it .... you will forget you have it.I have many of these plastic containers that store my scrap ribbon. My small ribbon stash is stored on these. I can't think of the name of them...somebody help me?
These containers are awesome for brads and eyelets. I used to use tackle boxes that worked well too but these are flat so take up less room and can see everything at a glance.

To answer several emails regarding do I always keep Maddy's side that neat....well, during the day Madison usually rips through it like a hurricane. However, every night before bed, no matter what, we sing the clean up song and put all of the things back into place. I don't worry about picking up during the day~I just wait until just before bath and bedtime.
My side however...my desk is usually a mess because I am always working on something. However, I must have a clean desk when I start each new project. I don't feel creative when there is too much clutter! Thanks for touring our little favorite room. To see Madison's side of the room click here. I'm off to buy paint for the new store...yippee!

  6. To answer your question about what it is that you store your ribbon on...those are embroidery thread bobbins. And I only know this because of my daughter's summer obsession with making friendship bracelets...lol.
