Tea Party Muse

I have many tea parties....but they are for little girls. So when Maddycakes was booked to do an adult tea party I really had to think on how to do an adult tea affair! I went to Flickr for some tea party "muses". Just about everything I found was for kids (don't need) and way too much mismatch flowery stuff for my taste. There were also some very cute shabby chic tea parties but I don't feel I could pull that style of very well. Then I found pics from Merrilee and her blog Mer Mag.
She has a very cute and modern approach to an adult tea party. Now this is more up my alley. The party is in 5 weeks so I better get a move on with the concept. (especially the invites!!)
Check out her DIY invites....she used masking tape....genius!
I love it when the theme is carried throughout the party from invitations to party to thank you notes! I think the black, white, and yellow is so fresh and modern. I love how she carried her stripped banner pattern onto her tablecloth. Can you believe she had this party the day before moving out of her home?? Now that is my kind of girl!!!She used a black and white stripped fabric from Ikea for the dining table. I LOVE the yellow and black dishes!!

Stay tuned for what I come up with and if you have any muses for me ~ please send them my way. Thanks my peeps!!
