Picnic Invitation

Here is the invitation that "Maddy made" for her daddy and daughter breakfast picnic. It would also work for a BBQ. I am going with the colors red, white and blue so it can be used for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and any picnic/BBQ in between.

You know I am in love with the unexpected and non-traditional invitations~ a few examples here. My idea for this invitation was inspired by the good old-fashioned flyswatter which to me is iconic for summer. Plus where there is outdoor food...there are flies, right?

Patriotic Corsage ~ Target $1

Scrapbook supplies on hand The corsage already had the flowers and red, white and blue ribbon. I just broke off the pin part (for safety) and Gorilla glued to flyswatter. I used red ribbon to attach the printed invitation and a picture of Maddy. I was thinking of also using the flyswatter invites for an upcoming July 3rd BBQ (I know invites should already be out!) To mail, simply purchase mail tubes and bend the invite to fit.
