Paige's Polka Dot Birthday

Maddycakes Muse is very happy that Amy submitted her daughter Paige's birthday pictures. Here is pictures of Paige's party and description from Paige's crafty and talented mom.

The party was a huge success! Paige's best friend has many, many allergies (e.g. milk protein, nuts, pet hair, etc.) so she can't come our house due to having a cat. SOOOO, I had to be innovative in finding a location to have a birthday party for a bunch of 6 and 7 year-olds. Swimming, ice skating & bowling were three options that didn't really excite Paige so we found out that our new movie theater has a birthday space.

Long story short, we secured the party room for 4 hours & Paige was able to show any movie she wanted to her friends...we had an entire theater to ourselves! It was fantastic.I didn't spend a ton of money on decorations but used a lot of color around the room. I had a cake/food table, gift/prize table & a party game corner. The kids colored pictures for a coloring contest while they ate pizza...watched the Hannah Montana movie....returned to play "musical polka dots", "mystery box", and "Stephen Says" (our version of Simon Says, my husband is Steve). Everyone was a winner for all of the games & I had a basket full of prizes for the kiddos to choose from (pencils, hair clips, crazy straws, etc.). The kids used the homemade goodie bags (also used for placecards) to stuff their prizes into.We wrapped up the party by eating cake, then taking pictures of Paige & each her friends as she opened their gift. This was truly amazing to see a bunch of 6 and 7 year-olds patiently and eagerly awaiting Paige's reaction. Most of the items were from Dollar Tree, you'll notice the brightly colored baskets on the table have shredded mylar for a touch of bling, also skittles to go with polka dot theme, with balloons tied on & cardstock underneath. The 'dots' around the room are foam dots form Dollar Tree and were the most talked about!

Great idea to hang the girl's masterpiece artworks!

I think that Amy did a wonderful job!! By the looks of the birthday girl and friends - they all had a blast. Just because you have to use a party space doesn't mean it has to be bland. Amy really personalized the space and made it so special for her daughter. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how Amy used the circles "polka dots" around the room. It totally brightens the space- how creative! Of course, you used my fav party store- $ Tree. All you need is a little imagination I always say and you did just that!
A whole movie theater to themselves- how awesome!!! Thanks so much for letting us share in Paige's special day!
