Popcorn Bar~ The Knot/The Bump Event

Maddycakes participated in The Knot/The Bump Cocktails and Connections Event a few weeks ago. It was very short notice, we had one week to decorate half of a ballroom at the Saguaro Hotel in Scottsdale with a Bump Lounge. The colors were already chosen to be yellow and orange. I added fuchsia for a little pop of color.
Do you like my Duct Tape backdrop?? More details on that to come in another post.
I decorated my nursery and now Madison's playroom with many items from Pottery Barn Kids so why not decorate a Bump Lounge with items as well?? Butter popcorn is a staple for any popcorn buffet. I displayed the butter popcorn in a wheelbarrow from Pottery Barn Kids. I love to use unconventional items on any of my dessert, sweets or food tables.
To give the table height I used Pottery Barn Kids Butterfly Stacking Hat Storage. Plus who doesn't love Sophie the giraffe? I encourage you to use kids toys on your display areas after all it is a baby shower right? To create a popcorn bar you need flavored popcorns, mix-ins, and toppings. All the popcorn and toppings came from Poppa Maize Gourmet popcorn. I LOVE popcorn and trust me when I tell you ... their popcorn is the best! So many flavors and colors to choose from. Poppa Maize Gourmet popcorn ships so you don't have to live in the Phoenix area to enjoy this amazing popcorn! So of course I picked popcorn the colors of the party.
Cheese popcorn- Orange
Strawberry Banana- Pink and Yellow
Lemon Meringue- Yellow
They were so delicious! Who knew I would fall in love with Lemon Meringue popcorn!
Popcorn Toppings
Mix-In's
I love salty and sweet so I always mix my buttered popcorn with M&Ms and sometimes peanuts as well.
I am in love with the alphabet wooden blocks from Pottery Barn Kids. I used them for spelling out Bump and Knot on my popcorn bar.
Also used the Pottery Barn Kids alphabet wooden blocks under candles to give height. Do you see my LED lighting behind it? Soon I will share some of my lighting secrets. It is imperative to light your tables and decor when you have a night or low light party!

I used a crib to display the "gifts".  I bought an old crib and changing table from Craigslist for $50 and spray painted them both yellow. You can easily recreate this for a baby shower.  Pretty and unexpected way to display the gifts at the shower. Just use the crib of the mom to be for a FREE option! To make paper banners extra special trim them with ric rac ribbon or pom pom ribbon.

I love details! So of course on the coffee tables I had to give guests some "muses" to take. Loving the Ready to Pop flags from A Pretty Little Party. I wrapped bottles in coordinating fabric and used a baby pin to secure. This is a great way to serve drinks at your baby shower event.
Favors were bags of popcorn wrapped in scrapbook paper and custom tag by A Pretty Little Party. Below is the other side of the ballroom which was the designated Knot area. Can you spot me? I was getting my grub on. The food was amazing and the hotel Saguaro~ so hip and retro!! LOVE! I still have more to show you. However, this is already a super long post so I will have to do a part 2!!

Although their names are not on the sponsors list~ I could have never done this event without the help of Natalie from A Pretty Little Party, Pottery Barn Kids, Poppa Maize Gourmet Popcorn, even my old assistant Sarah came out of maternity hiatus to help make this possible. Thanks so much! Andrea Crawley Photography you are amazing! It was extremely dark in the ballroom when my photographer arrived but she rocked it anyway!
I have some extremely exciting things coming up. I am humbled by all of the many blessings that God is bringing my way. Stay tuned and thank you all for visiting me here. I truly appreciate you.
