Fruit Palm Tree

I am back from the weekend at the beach. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I am in a tropical mood. Not only because I just got back from the beach but because my family vacation is only 2 weeks away!! This year we are going on a week long Carnival cruise. I get so many muses on how to display food buffets for parties from cruises. Nobody displays food better than they do on a cruise ship!! One of my favorites is the fruit palm tree. The fruit palm tree holds individual skewered bite sized pieces of fruit which are decoratively arranged. Summer is right around the corner with many parties....how about creating a fruit palm tree?

Secrets from an event planner~ it's not that hard to make a fruit palm tree my peeps. The base is pineapples stacked on top of each other. I use a dowel rod (hammered) down the middle of them. Then attached your cut fruit with toothpicks~arranged however you like. Stick palm leaves on top. The height of the palm will depend on how many pineapples you stack on top of each other. Trust me~ people will remember this edible palm tree that you create! It's great with a chocolate fountain next to it.

Just had to throw in a pic of my baby this weekend on the beach. We closed on our Mexican beach condo on Saturday. It took a while but she understands that the condo is ours. She is already making plans to have her friends visit. She is such the planner! LOL
