Family Wedding

Not too often do I get personal on Maddycakes Muse but from time to time...I tell my blogging buddies a few things about what is happening in my life besides parties and my muses!! Case in point my sister is getting married!! That's nice ~you say, that is lovely Michelle ~ tell her congrats, right?? To let you in on how special this is for me and my family I must give you a little of the history. First of all my sister is 61 years young. She was married before for 28 years and that was 26 years longer than it should have been. She had her 2 kids the first 2 years so that is why I said 26 instead of 28!! To say that she was in a emotionally abusive marriage is putting it lightly. My sister is the most kind hearted, spiritual, sweetest person you ever want to meet.


She finally got a divorce and has been single for years. She never dated anyone except her husband. It has been my prayer for years that God let her experience real love from a man. Our prayers have finally been answered and she is getting married Labor Day weekend.

She lives in Annapolis, Maryland so when thinking about planning her shower who did I turn to??? A fellow party planner of course!!! I immediately thought of Monique from Enchanted Expectations. Don't you love blogland!! I would have never known that this gem of a girl existed. Plus you get to see actual parties of planners right from the comfort of your home. What did I do before blogging??? Anyhoo, here is the inspiration board that Monique sent for my sister's shower. I think it is so beautiful and I'm loving the Fleur de lis. I will be able to sit back and enjoy this special time with my sister and family. (You know that I'm doing the wedding though, right??)
