Wall Cover Up

What do you do when you are having a party at a party spot or have a wall that totally clashes with your party decor? Here is the before photo of a party room location where the Valentine's Sweet and Treats party is being held. Here is the wall after. The party is not until next week so I thought it best not to put the food out yet! :)
I used strips of red ribbon on red duct tape. I love duct tape. You can find it in so many colors and patterns. If you aren't familiar with TapeSwell....check it out!!
If you look closely on top you can see the red duct tape strip. So your saying....uh Michelle....ribbon is expensive. Oh really?? Not when you buy on clearance. I bought this ribbon on after Christmas clearance at Hobby Lobby for 90% off. The ribbon came in rolls of 90 feet and I got each roll for $1.00! I snatched up all the red ribbon I could find! You can use red for so many holidays other than Christmas- (Valentines, 4th of July, Memorial Day). Plus it can be used for so many themes.
So this whole wall cost me about $5.00.

The Sweets and Treats Valentine's Party will have a heart wreath make and take, Valentine bingo, cupcake creation station, make and take Valentine cards and we are going to do the Cupid Shuffle. How many of you know what the Cupid Shuffle is???
What do you think??

  1. Inexpensive, but HIGHLY effective. Party City has similar wall curtains, but they are about $8 each.

& yeah, I am familiar with the Cupid Shuffle!

  2. Wow! You really got a deal on the ribbon. It really does transform the space. No clue on the shuffle...something like musical chairs maybe?

  4. The Cupid shuffle is a song and dance. It is the same concept as the Electric Slide. Too bad about having no Hobby Lobby!! It is the BEST store! :(
