Big News

So it doesn't look like much NOW but I have a vision. Maddycakes is opening a party location!
This store is located in Historic Glendale. The home is listed in the National Register of Historic Homes. I love this area so much. Historic Glendale is full of unique, eclectic shops and has such a sense of community and charm. Those who know me know I LOVE OLD homes and fixing them up!! SO this is right up my alley! I have been eyeing this area for over a year now and after much prayer and talking with the wonderful store owners of this great community; I have decided to take the plunge of store ownership. I obviously have a lot of work to do to make it mine but I'm ready for the challenge. I would love to share the updates .... if you would like to see??? First things first...getting rid of that blue....any color suggestions??
I have a bunch of fabulous real parties in my inbox just waiting for me to post so I will be posting them starting tomorrow.
Your dreams come true when you act to turn them into realities.

  1. So exciting! What is your vision for the place? A whimsical setting for tea parties? Classy styling for any party? Bold and fun? I'm thinking if it were my home, I would choose a different color than if it were a party place.

I love that old part of Glendale, too! We aren't too ridiculously far away from there. I'll have to come check out your business sometime!

  2. how exciting!!! I think you are going to do amazing! I am always a fan of neutral so you can do lots accessory changes throughout the life span - so I know some with gasp, but I say tan! Then do a fantastic sign that won't have to compete with a strong color!

  4. Wow, so happy for you!! I can picture this house a tan or beige color. With the shutters painted black and window boxes, dripping with flowers. The yard looks like it could handle the English Garden look. A red door to draw people to the front door. :) Love the house, so many possibilities!!

  10. SO SUPER EXCITING!! Have you named the party pad yet? Have you come up with a logo or brand for your new business? I would coordinate the house colors with your "logo" so everything is consistent. I would paint the door, trim, shutters, & body of the house in fun colors. Are you adding any architectural details? I can not wait to see what your plans are! Congratulations!

  13. Pink! Make it pink! lol Well, not an outrageous sort of pink, but something soft. Maybe almost white, but still pink. With a red door. Oh, and definitely some new vegetation.

Congratulations! You're going to do great.

  26. Congratulations! That is soooo wonderful. I can see a yellow with some multicolored (pastel) awning, something to put you in the mind of a mini-castle. Or if not that extreme go with a pastel color. Pastels always seem to refresh my spirit.
