At my daughter's Easter party I was talking with my neighbor regarding my birthday party...yes already talking about it and it's not until August and I'm doing a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. She said that she had never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's or for that matter any movie older than she was. WHAT???? (she's in her early 30's) What about all of those wonderful classics??? I grew up watching wonderful movies with my mom. She loved watching Turner Classics and I think I've seen just about every classic black and white film the channel has shown!! I love the combination of black and white. If you look in my closet you may say I need a color stylist because it consists mainly of black and white. To my defense....look how Vera Wang dresses. Anyhoo, today's nostalgic memory is black and white movies. Of course the concept of a movie theme party is not new...just add the twist of an all black and white movie theme party.

So we can't all be celebrities and have fab black and white parties like Elton John's Oscar bash but the color combo is so classic and elegant you really can't go wrong.
Instead of a red carpet ~ how about a black and white checkerboard path using b/w poster board.
I picked this picture because of it's unique table top...look closely it is made to resemble a piano keyboard. Easily achieved with some white and black tape.
Classic movie poster's displayed using up lights to highlight.

Loving this damask tablecloth and the black Lucite lamp!!
If you haven't heard of Bloom Boxes, where have you been?? They are cheap, come in all sorts of colors and you can personalized them using your common scrapbook supplies. This would work great in the black and white theme using old Hollywood photographs and of course white flowers.
Black and White Treats table.
Black and White Cookies by Sweet Ambs Etsy store. I just checked ~ her store is closed right now but wanted to show an alternative b/w cupcakes.
