Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was just my hubby, Maddy and me this year but this is MY family so I wanted to make it special. I still cooked like I would if many were coming over. It didn't seem right to set a table just for 2- Maddy is still in high chair/booster seat- so I just went ahead and set it for four! I didn't buy anything new just used what I had. I made this topiary a couple of years ago. I actually used my favorite scarf as the fabric underneath! I had to remove the picture frames that I made so you could see the table!
Got the leaf plates last year after Thanksgiving sale at 75% off. I think I paid about $2.50 a plate.

Here is my picture frame project.

I am a black Friday fanatic...I'm starting early at the Michael's sale today at 5 pm. So I must get a move on. Also will be hitting Toys R Us at midnight then Target and if I haven't bought all my gifts then Kohl's. Wish me luck!

  1. You are so brave. I used to love to go shopping on Black Friday, but they have pushed the hours up so far now, that I don't want to go out at 4:00 a.m.!

I think it is wonderful you set the fancy table, it looks so pretty. We did do TV trays. I thought I should take a picture and use it as a Tablescape, but I didn't want people to feel sorry for me...we actually were enjoying ourselves by the time we had dinner. I was a bit moody this morning about being on our own...but, I got past it. I spent the afternoon putting 1200 lights on my tree...not a bad day.

Hope you get the bargains you are looking for.

  2. You are a brave shopper. I'm too old to think about getting out to shop that early. LOL Your Thanksgiving table is gorgeous! Stunning gold leaf plates and the wide gold rim on your china is spectacular. ~ Sarah

  3. Ladies,
I arrived at Toys R Us at 11:45 pm....the lines were all around the building with people lined up on the highway!!! I left- I have my limitations. There is no way I was going to stand on the highway for hours to get a few bargins. Went to Kohl's same craziness!! However, ended up in Walmart at 5 am and got all my toys for Madison and my neices and nephews. So all in all good Black Friday.

  4. Beautiful table! I love the leaf plates and what a deal! How sweet that you decorate even for the 3 of you. I'd do the same :) Black Friday shopping is insane, but I do it every year....LOVE IT!
