You've Been Boo'd

Being a party planner, every weekend I am doing parties for others. So often I have to slow down and remember that I need to keep up all of my traditions for my family and friends. So tonight, I lit a Pumpkin Pie Yankee Candle and put together my boo packages.

I love this little tradition. If you never heard of it or just haven't started it in your neighborhood or workplace - give it a try- you'll be glad you did. I will write out the note so you know what to do. (This is the note that I'm attaching with bags) The Phantom haunts you happily
now through Halloween
and was delivered by a friend who,
was hopefully not seen.
The spirit in the neighborhood
has come to wish you well.
Someone, somewhere, selected you
to receive this happy spell.
You must display the phantom so all can spy
that you have been haunted by this special guy!
Then fix two sacks of goodies
like the ones given to you.
Like something cute
or something sweet
Just two short days to work your spell
work fast, and no one tell!

Here are some directions to guide the spell:
1. Enjoy the treats.
2. Place your "WE'VE BEEN BOO'D" sign on your front door.
3. Within 2 days (or nights) make 2 copies of the papers and make 2 treats.
Don't stress, make it fun, don't spend a lot of money. It's the thought that counts.
4. Secretly deliver to two friends who haven't been boo'd. Maybe a neighbor you have yet to
meet may enjoy a tasty treat.
5. Watch the spirit spread.
And one more thing that must be told- secrecy is as precious as gold!
There are many versions of this poem but I like this one because a lot of people don't celebrate Halloween due to religious reasons so this note is not talking about witches and goblins. I also attached another Boo note that is cute as well. Here are my Boo bags. I found these last year (on after Halloween clearance) and made sure to buy at least 2 so I can do my booing this year. I like it because it has the ghost on them.

I found this one at Kirkland's. I saw these bags again this year there.
This one at Marshall's.
All you have to do is attach the note, a ghost picture with We've Been Boo'd and some treats! I found some really cute ghost foam cutouts at JoAnn's - it would be cute to just add the WE'VE BEEN BOO'D on top!
This note says:

You've been Boo'd
This sweet surprise is called a "Boo"!
you'll never know exactly who
brought treats and then ran off unseen
to brighten up your HALLOWEEN!
It's twice the good luck if you go
and "Boo" to other folks you know!
Pack up a ghost sign
treats and gifts,
and add a poem just like this.
Pick out a house and sneek up close.
Make sure it's windows have no ghosts
that tells you clearly
"WE'VE BEEN BOO'D"!
It's best to visit someplace new.
Knock fast on someone's door - then run!
Make sure you are never seen! It's fun!
And once they get your gifts and food...
they'll know for sure that
they've been BOO'D!

(Personally, I don't ring the doorbell and run...I would get caught so I just leave it very early in the morning)

Happy Boo'ing!!!
