Gateway to your home

I was looking at all of the wonderful tablescapes yesterday from Tablescape Thursday on Between Naps on the Porch blog. There were so many fall tablescapes that I really got in the mood to pull out all of my decor to start decorating for fall. Then it struck me...I have been living in Arizona for 3 years now and have never decorated my front porch except for Christmas!! When I lived on the East Coast, I used to decorate for every season and holiday! I guess since Arizona's fall is not as colorful as what I am used to (and it's so hot), I just haven't decorated my outside....well no more!!
Look at my bland front porch!!! I am going to decorate it this weekend and post pictures next week!
I entertain so much during the fall. Every year I have a pumpkin carving party, harvest dinner, family over for Thanksgiving and this year since Halloween is on a Saturday after the kids go trick or treating - I was thinking of having a dive-in scary movie night! (turn up the heat in the pool and jacuzzi and show a scary movie in the backyard-don't forget I live in AZ) Your front door is the first impression guests get upon entering your home! Why have I been ignoring it??? You can even carry your party theme to the front porch!

So here comes a site called Door Couture. They have wonderful examples of how to carry your seasonal and party to the front door! This one is my favorite - it is for a quinceanera party!
Back to School decor!

I could have used this one when I had the girls over for an Asian party!!! The possibilities are endless!! I am on a new path to carry out all my seasons and parties from the front door to the table!
