Dollar Day Creation

Have you ever had a color scheme and didn't have matching dishes? Ever have a get together and don't want to use your best china or paper products either and want to make it different than the norm? What about color coordinating your plates to your decor?

This glass plate was found at $ Tree. You will need a piece of fabric, scrapbook paper (optional), and Mod Podge -any decoupage medium. I made a M (of course) using scrapbook paper. You don't have to do this step but I thought it would be cool if you know who is coming, you could put each person's initial on plates. They can take it home with them and use it for display. Put an even amount of Mod Podge on plate.

I used some remnant fabric I had but you could also use scrapbook paper, tissue, or wrapping paper. Fabric was really easy to work with though. I put another layer of Mod Podge on back. I'm not sure you need this step but I thought it would be a good sealer. Wait about 20 minutes until completely dry.

Trim excess fabric and this is what you get. Sorry for the glare from my camera.

I quickly put it with some stuff from around the house so you can get a better visual. Hope you like the first Dollar Day Creation. Please let me know what you think and if this Dollar Day Creation is something that you would be interested in having weekly.
This is so versatile the possibilities are limitless. If anyone does this - PLEASE send in the photos!
