Unicorn Party Hats

So many great things happened while I participated in Operation Shower back in San Diego the beginning of the year. The main thing besides the wonderful mommies we met....I got to meet the most amazing and talented designers and party stylists! I love my party girls and I'm so blessed to call many of them my friends! One being the ever so talented and sweet Shawna Brockmeier of Shawna Brockmeier Styled Events! If you remember she made the princess crowns for Madison's Easter Princess and the Pea party HERE! Well, I contacted her a few months ago to make some more items for Madison's My Little Pony birthday party. My MUSE for the Unicorn party hats was this gorgeous horse I found on Pinterest! I emailed her the horse/unicorn photo .......
and these gorgeous Unicorn party hats is what I received!! They are just too precious!!
Here is my little model! Thanks Shawna for another amazing handmade beautiful item for my baby! You are so talented....when is the ETSY shop going to open??? She does take custom orders though my peeps!! I will share something else she made for the party soon....thank God I have these items at least I have something done for Madison's party for next weekend!!
As I shared with you all on Facebook yesterday, I am still in awe that I was selected to be the designer for The Knot/The Bump event here next week! I am designing The Bump Lounge for the event. I am working around the clock to make this a success and only have 6 days but I'm up for the challenge. I appreciate your words of congratulations and encouragement. I truly feel blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of bloggers/readers!

Welcome to Summer Ice Cream and Cake Social

I am back from my Disney Cruise vacation! It was wonderful. I got back on Saturday night and still a little tired from my vacay! I never posted the pics from Madison's last day of school Ice Cream and Cake social so here they are! I love summer and I'm so excited that Madison is done with school for the year and we can enjoy our summer. My company Maddycakes is also taking a summer break and not taking any parties the months of June through August! Only Madison's birthday party and my birthday! No worries....I will still have tons of DIY party projects and other party things to share with you all summer long! The launch of the new Maddycakes Muse is happening in August so can't wait to show you the NEW and IMPROVED Maddycakes Muse! Much more on that to come!

The picture above is the treat that Madison gave out to her classmates the last day of school. I did splurge and got the Jelly Belly fish. They really taste good! I bought the printable fish bowl from here. None of the kids took them home....they ate them right away! Sorry MOMS!!
It was over 100 degrees and the kids were all waiting patiently for me to set up to get their ice cream and cake....no pressure! I literally had 5 minutes to set up ...... plus ice cream and cake not so great for photos in 100 degree weather so luckily I got at least a few shots before the kiddos came out! Unfortunately the pics aren't that great and I didn't even get a shot of the beach umbrella that was attached to the beach chair....UGH!  Oh well...at least the kiddos loved it especially my baby girl! Yes...that is real sand! It was the last day of school for my baby so I wanted to do a welcome to summer beach theme!
So where is the cake??? Well...your looking at it! Don't you just love these ice cream cake sundaes??? LOVE!!! Yes, that is a cupcake baked in a cup with the icing as the ice cream! When I asked my wonderful cake diva to make these I had no idea you could actually bake the cake in the cups! Genius! I thought she was just going to place the cupcakes in the cups but she said that she did it that way at first but the cupcakes moved around too much so she decided to bake the cake in the cups! I love them and her too!! All my local peeps should give her a try....Lizzy's Sweets N' Treats is AMAZING!

I put the toppings into little sand buckets.
These are also cupcakes baked into ice cream cones! I just love these cupcakes so much! Both the ice cream sundaes and ice cream cones cupcakes looks so much like the real thing!!

I hand wrote the items on sea shells.

My baby and a few of her peeps!
We will see this sweet boy in Kindergarten.

My Little Pony Invites

Here is Madison's invite for her My Little Pony party. She wanted all the colors of the rainbow for her party just like the ponies. I thought this printable invite by Printable Candee Designs was perfect. Chelsie was awesome to get me the invites quick so I can get them passed out before Madison's last day of school which is tomorrow! YIKES!!! Where has the time gone??
You know I had to have more than just a paper invite though....right? Yes, you know me! So I added these adorable glitter ponies found at Dollar Tree. I got them in blue, pink and purple...so cute! Plus I found these already decorated cylinders at Dollar Tree too! Perfect!  Put contents inside and done! I think Madison's friends will like!

Need A Princess??

By far the most requested party I get from my children party business is my Signature Princess party! Every little girl loves to play dress up and become princesses! Not until being a speaker at SNAP did I realize that many of you really would like some of my "insider" tips and tricks! Well, I will start sharing more of my tricks and parties with you. SO you are having a princess party and your little girl wants a princess? To hire one it can run you up to $150! Want to know what I do???

Buy yourself some Rit Dye...it comes in every color of the rainbow and then some! Go buy you a used wedding gown.....with no train please! I find mine either at Goodwill or on Craigslist. Better deals at Goodwill though! I should have taken a picture when it was still white...sorry! I simply put the gown in my washing machine and add the dye. Let the washing machine do all the work for you.

This will be used as a Belle dress....hence the yellow.  :) Yes, the embroidery gets darker than the dress but I actually like it that way. Different materials dye differently but I have never met a little girl yet who noticed!
I don't put the dresses in the dryer~ I hang dry...as you see now. Ask a teenager to be your princess...you will be surprised how much they love dressing up too!
Dress ~ $29.99 at Goodwill
Rit Dye- $1.79 at Wal-Mart
Having a Princess meet your Princess......Priceless!

Teacher Appreciation Gift

Here are the teacher's gifts Madison gave today. I just love them. While at the SNAP conference in Utah, I went to the Tulip Festival and bought these from a vendor. However for my crafty peeps I know that you can recreate~ Using a block of wood, wood apple, paint, some tulle, ribbon and your cutting machines! I want to give gifts all week. You saw the apple cakepops on Facebook that Madison gave on Monday, right? You're not a fan on FB?? What.??...you are missing a lot of parties, tips and pictures that I don't put on blog! I update FB daily ...click here to like me.  It only takes a second. Thanks!!

Nursing School Graduation Party

I hope everyone had a wonderful Cinco de Mayo weekend. I spent the weekend at our condo in Mexico so the perfect place to celebrate! However, I had to get back home on Sunday for a party. I got home around 2:45 and the party was at 4 pm! Yikes...I pushed it a little too much this time! Luckily my sweet hubby help set up the tables and chairs and cleaned up the outside for me! This party was for my friend who graduated nursing school!

The backdrop was gauze I picked up from the 99 cents store but I don't know if anyone got it! My neighbor is a Orthopedic surgeon so X-rays and skeleton came from him.
I literally threw this table together in 5 minutes. I had many things that I wanted to do and would have done differently but when you are crunched for time you must adapt and overcome! Good thing I did most of my prep work before I left for the beach!!

Meet FRED!
Although I love printables, I didn't have the time to have any made for this party so I decided to go "Old School" and make simple labels using card stock, Word and a stamp! Easy, quick and cheap! I put Dollar store band-aids on the treat boxes to tie in theme.
It is possible to have a dessert table without having any CUSTOM food items~ all store bought items.
I would have made my own cupcakes but then people would really have needed a doctor and I don't like the taste of store bought so you can either go to a local bakery but I have a girl....lucky me! Cupcakes by Lizzy Sweets and Treats.
I made these Red Cross Oreos using white almond bark and Fruit Roll Ups for the crosses. Around the tray was gummy band aids. Those were eaten first before cookies by the kiddos!

Got this cute shot pen from Oriental Trading.
The utensils were placed in latex gloves.

Bought all the CVS bottles from Ebay and filled with Skittles. (These were a huge hit with adults and kids!)
Test Tube Bubbles from Dollar Tree. (Also got the red and white container from Dollar Tree- free)
The Germ Juice is hand sanitizer bought from WalMart for 88 cents. Just peeled off front label and replaced with stickers.

The Your Organ stickers and body from Oriental Trading. I placed these around on tables so people could test their knowledge.  (I think the kids did better than the adults!)

Remember my first aid kits I showed you for the kiddos food??
Here are the contents. So easy to do and absolutely perfect for any party. Inside the pretty Bake It Pretty red and white stripped bags are Cheetos. I didn't know they were such a greasy chip!! I always include Wet Wipes also!!

This was done by a 8 year old boy...I have no idea if it's close to being correct but it looked good to me!

The Stuck on You would be super easy to do!

I love them all .... not which one to do??

First Aid Kit Kid's Lunch Boxes

I am giving my friend graduating nursing school a graduation party on this Sunday. However,  just found out from the hubby that he wants to go to our condo for Cinco de Mayo this weekend. So that leaves me with 3 days to get everything ready. We will get back on Sunday and I will have about 2 hours for set up.

I've found the most convenient way to serve the kiddos at parties is to "pack" a lunch. Of course make it cute and either theme or color related. I have a lot of these white boxes from Smart and Final. I use them all of the time. For this theme I simply made a Word Document with a Red Cross and First Aid Kit. Oh how I wish I was a talented graphic designer but in this case I think it works just fine. I will put the kiddos sandwich, chips and fruit inside. I always put in a packaged Wet Wipe as well. I will get a picture of the contents for you on Sunday. I haven't forgotten about posting about SNAP. Just busy with work and trying to play catch up. I have a lot of exciting things in the works that will be revealed soon my peeps!
