Princess and the Pea Party Invitations

Yesterday I posted about how God has blessed me with such wonderful people in my life. Kori of Paper and Pigtails is another wonderful friend and talented designer who has blessed my life! I have been using Kori's party printables for so many of my parties. If you have never seen all of her designs make sure to check them out here! This year Madison really wants a princess party! As you know, I do them all the time for Maddycakes and I'm really over the theme! LOL However, my baby has never had one so I am combining her Easter party with the Princess theme. Two for one....yea!! However, I wanted to do something unique and not the normal princess party. One of Madison's favorite stories is Princess and the Pea so that is her theme. So while looking at Kori's Paper and Pigtails designs, I ran across her Night Owl party printables!! I was so excited when I saw that she has adapted it for Princess and a Pea!!
LOVE at first sight!!! I love it so much....check out how the pea has made a lump all the way to the top mattress!! LOVE! I wanted to have a sleepover but since the girls are still a little too young I opted for a breakfast. I want the girls to wear pajamas so wanted to make each girl pajamas and include it with their invitations for them to wear to the party. I asked Kori could she make the princess print large so I could transfer to shirts. My girl never disappoints!!
So here is my beautiful model with her Princess and the Pea Party PJs!!
I attached the Printable and EDITABLE party invite with the party info to the pajamas.
I really love how it turned out! Invitations are so important to me....it sets the tone for your party so make it special!! I have so many DIY projects for this theme so stay tuned. I will be trying to finish one a day! Is it possible???

Sugar & Spice Designs

I am a very blessed person. I thank God everyday for his many blessings. What I cherish most in my life are my family and the wonderful friends and people who are in my life. I met T.J., owner and designer of Sugar and Spice Designs at a Christmas party I crashed ~I mean went to with my neighbor. There were over 40 ladies there for a cookie exchange party and I didn't know anyone. If you know me then you know that doesn't stop me....I'm not shy....at all!! Somehow T.J. and I got into a conversation about blogs and I found out that she designs blogs, logos and customizes Facebook.
So many of you have told me how much you like my new design of my blog. I LOVE IT! I owe it ALL to T. J. with Sugar and Spice Designs! God continues to bless me by putting such wonderful people in my life such as T.J.!
If you want to update your blog look, or want a welcome page to your FACEBOOK, or new logo....whatever you need...check her out! The best part her prices are ridiculously reasonable!!!! I mean down right cheap! However, you are getting seriously quality work!

Easter Muses

Hello everyone! I'm in such a Spring/Easter mood today! How about you? For the past 2 years around this time Maddycakes Muse has had an Easter/Spring parties contest. However, this year I am not doing it. But will put up a linky party this week so we can all still enjoy your parties! I have gotten many emails asking why I'm not blogging everyday like I used to. First thanks for noticing! I am very blessed that my business Maddycakes is completely booked until June. However, some things have to give and my blog has been the victim! Although, I try to update Facebook and Pinterest daily on my events, projects and muses. So please check me out there. I'm closing down my friends Facebook page and opening up a business page so please like me. (Just use my icons on right of blog) I will still try to blog at least 4 times a week...if not more!! Here are a few Easter muses I'm loving right now

Unique Invitations

I am in absolute LOVE with these "fishy" invitations from Stubbornly Crafty for her son's Fishy party!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I'm a girl who really gets giddy over unique and unexpected invitations!!! If your invite is boring then I start to think your party may also be boring! LOL

Monica's daughter loved her green IPOD so for her first dance party Monica (Le Petit Papier) designed this cute IPOD invite.

Love this Candyland invite in a spray painted Altoid mint tin can by Katherine Marie.
She used Candyland pieces and recycled old Candyland cards from games she had been collecting from garage sales. My kind of girl!

Cooking party invitation from Design Mom. I really want to have a cooking party for Madison one of these days. She really loves to cook and with this invite it would get all of the kiddos excited about coming!
I was looking through old posts and found tons of cool unique invitations. To see more just use keyword invitations on the blog search button.

Are you planning an Oscar party?

Are you planning an Oscar party? Well, I really like watching awards shows...my husband not so much. So I guess I won't be having one of these! To be honest, I haven't watch a grown up movie in I don't know when so unless they are nominating Rio then I wouldn't know any movie nominated but I LOVE seeing what everyone is wearing. Anyway, I would love to have one...especially using these lovely FREE printables from Twig & Thistle. They had me at the color combo black and white!
How cute is this Oscar statue?
LOVE the popcorn boxes! Movies and popcorn together a must!
You can send out the ballot with the invite or have guests fill out once they arrive.

Tally up the scores and announce the winners with a cute favor of course! I am switching over my FACEBOOK to a business one so if you are my current friend make sure you click on my FB link on the right sidebar to like my new page!

DIY Mini Cakes

I love these mini cakes...they look so hard to get such perfect and even, right???
These babies were made in a can! Get out! I LOVE them!! It looks so easy maybe I can do it!! Jordan from Oh Happy Day made these lovelies! I must say I love her blog...she moved to Paris for a year with her family from San Francisco. How exciting! I love Paris! I went there alone before I was married and let me tell you it really is the city of love...I want to go back now! I digress, what were we talking about?? Oh yea, mini cakes!
Look how easy?? To make cakes Jordan says~Step 1. Remove paper from the empty can and clean it. Grease and flour the inside of the can. To bake fill can a little over half full with batter. I baked these at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes but my oven is not consistent so make sure you check them by dipping in a toothpick until it comes out clean. Let cakes cool completely before removing.

This is a must try....got to start saving my cans now as well as my glass jars. My hubby is really going to think I'm nuts.

Chocolate Overload

I'm seriously in style hog heaven! I love chocolate.....I love black and white.....I love the use of newspaper as a backdrop! Add in the handwritten food labels and polka dot banner and you have simple perfection! The lovelies from A Beautiful Mess created this treat table for a friend's going away get together.

I love salt and sweet togther. If you have never had chocolate dipped potato chips then you are missing out!

I'm actually eating a delishis chocolate cupcake right now. Yes, it's 1:50 am...don't judge.

How good do those truffles look. I don't eat many truffles....maybe I should start.

Beautiful display of Oreos~I always say...it's in how you display things. Your presentation means everything. If you are going to have chips and dip please take it out of it's original containers and put in a bowl! Please do me a quick favor and go to top of blog and click on my Facebook icon and like my new business page...it will take two seconds and you will have your good deed done for the day!

DIY Candy Jars

A few of you noticed my candy jars from Madison's Valentine's preschool mini sweets table on Facebook and wanted the 411! I have been saving every glass jar after we finish the food. So I have so many jars from pickles to jelly jars. SAVE YOUR JARS my peeps.....there is so many things you can do with them!! Here is a pickle and a jelly jar. I keep E-6000 on hand~permanently bonds anything!! The glass candlesticks are from Dollar Tree. I simply sprayed the candlesticks and the jar tops. (this took several coats)
Viola...lovely candy jars!
I just added the felt flower with double sided tape because it match my other table decor. I used tape so I can take it off easily and use this jar for another time.

I seriously love everything that my friend and blogging buddy Melissa from Buckets of Grace does!! She works full time as a lawyer but really could be a party planner as well. She is amazing. She has 2 adorable kids and always makes everything so super special for them!! Here is a Valentine's day breakfast she did for them on Saturday. ADORABLE!!
I love the Bushel and a Peck theme...get it peck...kiss....lips?? LOVE!!
Attention to detail is her speciality! Good quality to have being a lawyer! :)
Heart pancakes...I will be making these for Madison tomorrow! Last year I made shamrock pancakes for St. Patrick's Day...remember?? I'll try my luck with the heart pancakes.
OK....to cute! I'm seriously loving the doilies wrapped around the bottles tied with twine and the red lips with glitter around straws just puts the icing on the cake!
Loving the bushel and the peck lips!! Wax lips used to be my favorite as a kid!!
Of course she would have chocolate lips as well!
Madison asked me this morning if I would please do a sweets table for her class Valentine's party TOMORROW! I wasn't planning on doing one but how could I say no! I will be hitting the grocery store today and you will be seeing these Little Debbie heart cakes on a stick for her party as well! Thanks for the muse Melissa!!

Comic Book Baby Shower

What I really love about this table is the use of a Target shower curtain for a backdrop! This table was for a comic book baby shower by The Thriftress but wouldn't it be perfect for a Superhero party as well!! EEEEKKKK just love it!
Used old comic books as the banner!
It is so simple to make these cute superhero sound effects cupcake toppers using your computer software and cardstock!
